On 22nd March, 1915, the 2nd Oxford & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry battalion of 5 Brigade, 2nd Division, moved into the front line trenches in the Festubert-Le Plantin sector where they remained here for six days. During this time patrol work was undertaken and there was some, but not much shelling of their positions. Two men were killed during this tour including Alfred Henfrey on 24th March. |
